Ok, couple questions? I have been studying the EP&L's before class starts on Monday, and I can't figure out what these V speeds are for: 1.Vadg deploy max(wet and dry) 2. Vb 3. Mb (I assume this is the Mach version for whatever Vb is). I have never run across those V speeds before.

Also there are Vfe speeds and Vfo speeds for flaps 8 and 20. Vfe is higher than Vfo by 15kts. I know what Vfe is for but again, never ran across a Vfo speed before. What is it for? I assume you deploy flaps at or below 215 and then have to slow down to 200 with the flaps out or no..........?

Please tell me I'm not the only one or maybe I'm mildly learning deficient.

Ok I have thought about Vadg some more and can maybe assume it's referring to the flight spoilers?

Vadg = Air Driven Generator

Vfe is the speed you can extend the flaps at. So, you'd have to slow to 200 and Vfo you can increase speed 15 knots once their extended.

Other way around deploy at 200(V flap operate), and then 215(V flap extended).

Ah ok, right, that makes sense. It's late and my brain is mush from studying.

Have fun man, wish I was gonna be in class with you. I'm scheduled for September but hopefully I can make an earlier class.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the way software works. You don't just pay a one time fee and presto, here's a program that will fix all of your needs. No, you pay a monthly/yearly subscription to use it and its not cheap. How about you put together a nice powerpoint presentation to show CC that the money they'll save in scheduling will most definitely cover the cost of this software. You can't and you wont.

That said, name one piece of proprietary software SkyWest has that doesn't work. They are actually pretty good at what they do, and another reason why they are lightyears ahead of everyone else.

Vadg is the air driven generator limitation. Wet/dry refers to different versions with different limitations.
Vb/Mb is turbulence penetration.

I know exactly how it works, was just simplifying it. And if would save that much money, since Skywest according to you is great at their software, wouldn't they be doing this already?

There are soft time costs involved and software costs. I know management has looked at it, and thinks there could be something there like satellite domiciles, but all VPs have to sign off on it
