I commuted to IAH for 2 years and it was horrible. Always full. I got on the airways flights because we fly for them so I'd bump a CAL/UAL guy and any XJT guys but that was my only saving grace. Many guys that still do it from phx are two legging it. I was commuting to Denver too and that one was much easier than IAH. Southwest has been great for Denver ever since they opened their base up there. UA was always full but between US and WN I always made it.

Do you know what kind of qualifications he/she had to get an interview with UA as an FO? Are they well connected or is there something else on their resume that UA liked?

Sometimes it seems like the brand new employees know more about the (current) industry than the ones who have been here a while. The new pilots are the ones who follow the standing bid list awards closely and follow hiring news and contract negotiations at other airlines closely. The more senior pilots are the ones who get comfortable and stop caring.

I didn't look for this month or previous I was just going off the notion that SLC did most of the 900 trips going through Chicago.

Curious how the hierarchy goes for being a sim instructor. Does that go to the senior or is it a gig that nobody wants and wide open.
Thanks!
Thanks!
