I think it will eventually go senior and new hires won't be in it for a while. Right now there are too many unknowns. No one knows the schedules or when they'll announce more domiciles. No one has seen any of the trips. Until recently it didn't even have a pay scale.

If people find out that the trips are good or they announce west coast bases it'll go senior considering it pays 6.4% more than the CRJ 200. All I ever get is 200 trips so I'd consider bidding it once I know more. I'm sure others will too.

Also, which travel benefits do you get on the CRJ in ORD?
ORD is historically amongst the most junior of bases, so time on reserve tends to be the least. Right now, staffing means that reserves get used the majority of their days on. I don't see that ending anytime soon. The E175 is a giant unknown, since less than a handful of destinations have been announced, and trip quality is in limbo. That will change with time, but as others have said, as they move West and more is known, expect it to go more senior. I doubt very much to see newhires in it anytime soon, they are much more likely to drop seatlocks first and let it go to proven entities as the Feds will be watching us very closely for quite awhile.

Incidentally, CRJ pilots will continue to have access to Delta benefits, and AA. E175 pilots will be United-dedicated, and the travel center recently announced that E175 pilots will have access to Delta benefits only as far as SkyWest-operated Delta Connection flight are concerned. No mainline access, no other partners. It may not seem like much, but that's a pretty big difference.

The highest total since 117, even then guys with 4 months seniority are a SR reserve and 4 spots from at least a composite.

Point is, nowhere near two years.

I didn't see it answered yet, but I'm also wondering what current times are to hold a line in ORD and also how many hours of credit per month one could expect once they do hold a line.
I'm still on the outside looking in so if someone could explain seat lock...does that basically just mean you can't switch aircraft types for 2 years once you're assigned your aircraft?

There are 169 FOs bidding for May in ORD, and 19 reserve lines. So the junior lineholder should roughly be about 6 months of seniority. It depends on how many people who could hold lines choose to bid reserve. The posted bid average for May is 88 hours, but your line can be anywhere from 75 to 100 when you're that junior. All of this will be totally different for June, and every month thereafter... more lines with more credit and flying in the Summer, more reserves in the fall.

Your understanding of seatlocks is correct. No changes until 2 years after your date of hire. It does not mean you can't upgrade (there just is no possible way you will be able to upgrade in 2 years), just limited to same side of the flight deck but different aircraft.
