Congrats!!!

How long did it take to hear back after your interview that you had been accepted?

Once again congratulations. Skywest is one of the good ones for sure.

well at the interview he asked me if I could attend a class that Monday and I said no because I had to give two weeks. Long story short is they told me at the interview and about 5 days later I got stuff for class. Fun interview and good people, but every time I was on a SKW jumpseat they where always stand up folks.

Thanks for the info. And once again, congratulations. There are many that hope to follow in your footsteps.

I would check out Mesa first before coming to SkyWest.

At least there you'll have a chance at upgrading, at SkyWest you will not.

In 2006 people said the same thing in reverse. Go to Skywest because at least you'll have a chance at upgrading, at Mesa you will not. There are plenty of people at Skywest who just barely missed the quick upgrade when the music stopped and waited 6 more years to upgrade. There are also people who upgraded in a year and sat reserve for 6 years.

Things can easily change overnight. I personally wouldn't want to be stuck at Mesa of all places when they do change. They're offering unsolicited class dates over the phone to people who applied years ago. That kind of company culture just sounds embarrassing and unprofessional to me.

Not chasing an upgrade. If choosing between Skywest and Mesa in the current environment, I'd choose Mesa. They're adding planes and Skywest has 90+ planes coming off contract in two years.

Mesa isn't that bad when you have a line. Reserve on the jet is running 1.5 - 2 years on the jet at Skywest.

Personally, I think Skywest is a better company to work for, but if a young pilot is looking to get his/her time and get out, Mesa is the better choice.
