It is. Hence our "Alaska" airplanes are registered NxxxAG.

I bet skywest management is beyond psyched over Great mistakes pulling out of their EAS contracts in MSP. Sounds like a good place to put a couple 200's headed for the desert

That's correct. It stands for Block Hour Override. It's kind of a controversial topic at Skywest so you'll hear it talked about quite a bit. For every hour you actually fly the 700 or 900 you get a 6% or 8% override on your block time. If you're scheduled to fly a 900 but the flight cancels you only get 200 pay. If you're on a 700 or 900 trip and there's a deadhead in the middle of the trip you only get 200 pay for the deadhead.

BHO started as a "temporary revision" that has overstayed it's temporary welcome. Much like ready reserve.

I have had flights canceled on 7/9 trips and still get the BHO on those legs... It's in the policy manual that BHO are still covered for cancelations..... (Backed up by our payroll lady (who is awesome by the way) who does IAH) Or maybe mine has been falling thru the cracks all these years. Lol. But I agree, it can get a lil confusing when all "soft time" vs block hours flown is paid in BHO.

Yes. It comes more into play for deadheads and vacation/sick time.

BHO was not a temp revesion. It was voted in by the majority in a pay package in 2005-06 timeframe.

Wasn't it part of the 'deal me an ace and we'll go back to normal after we win the united contract' vote?

No, they are two diferent events. "Deal me an ace" was the pilot group flying 70 seat airplanes at 200 rates. No override. Almost two years later the BHO was voted in as the "established" rate for 7/9 flying.
