07 new hires could have been in the bro, but not jet. They'll upgrade next year and be on 8 year captain pay. July 07 new hired couldn't have upgraded into anything.

I was a June 07 hire and this Dec was the first upgrade class I could hold. EMB PSP award. There were a couple other guys in my new hire class junior to me with the same award.

The most junior emb captain on the seniority list is a June 2007 hire. That's 6.5 years. Might want to check your facts before you start assuming guys are not choosing to upgrade. Upgrade times will drop but not dramatically.

Does SKYW require a tso'd headset? I've read past posts from 2011 that say negative, just making sure that hasn't changed in the last couple years.

I've been here 6 years and have 900-1000 guys below me. I can't hold emb captain anywhere. At least 200 numbers away for crj for msp/ord and that doesn't count the 100's of guys that have bids in for lax, Slc, den, sea, only. We're upgrading 5 or so emb a month and about 10 rj a month. We have no communication from management on what the projections are, so the music could stop at any time. We have a ton of airframes coming off contract in the next 3 years and not all will be renewed.
So anyone hired today will have at least 1000 guys itching to upgrade in front of them, a lot of captains not going anywhere (at least 500 but probably way more), and a shrinking airline in the next 3 years. Although upgrade time might drop I doubt it will drop to 1-2 years. These are just facts.

Finally, I've been here just over 2.5 years and have 700 pilots below me. I am a lowish 2500 number. So... What you're saying about "only" having 900-1000 pilots below just proves my statement.

We didn't run any classes from 6/08 until 9/10. However, that puts nearly 800 FOs that were hired 6/08 and prior that haven't upgraded yet. You can come up with your own assumptions on how many we'll upgrade every month, how many will decide to stay in the right seat, and how many will quit, etc. before we get to a 9/10 DOH upgrade.
Don't forget, about 65% of our attrition is out of the right seat.

The most junior EMB CA was hired 6.5 years ago (June, 2007). There were several years of no hiring between then and now, thus it is likely (and quite probable) that there will be a rather significant drop in the current upgrade time as we approach the pilots that got hired after the stagnant years.
Finally, I've been here just over 2.5 years and have 700 pilots below me. I am a lowish 2500 number. So... What you're saying about "only" having 900-1000 pilots below just proves my statement.

Klen just posted total upgrades for 2013 is 73. Projections for 2014 are: 85 ejet, 100 crj, and 25 emb 120. So by my calculations I won't be upgrading in 2014 (maybe ill sneak into the last emb class). So by those numbers you won't be upgrading till 2015 maybe, which would put you at +4 years. And if you project the those behind us they won't be upgrading in 1-2 years.
If I choose to stay here, I'll be at minimum a 9 year jet captain or 8 year bro captain.
I'll reiterate what has been said before. Good job but don't come here expecting to upgrade. You won't.
