Anyways, my question is, what if i applied? Could there be a chance of getting an interview? Let's say i get offered the job and the university still isn't on the list? Is that pretty much the end of me? I'd have to wait till 1500? Do regionals even look at the list of which schools are on it?

Or is this a stupid question? lol

I'm just afraid that by the time i build up to 1500, the regionals won't be hiring anymore. Regardless of pay or anything negative that is said about the regionals, I just want to be in the 121 field...

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
"A graduate from an institution of higher education who holds a bachelor’s degree with an aviation major and has completed at least 60 semester credit hours of aviation coursework and obtained the commercial pilot certificate and instrument rating from an associated part 141 pilot school to apply with 1,000 hours of total time as a pilot...."

University needs t/b on the list and you satisfy RAE, otherwise 1500 hrs....suggest you communicate with your university for status of university application for RAE with FAA

Institutions Authorized to Certify its Graduates for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Reduced Aeronautical Experience:

What you need to know about the 1,500-hour rule:

1500-Hour Rule

Some regionals and most majors require an unrestricted ATP, so RAE not applicable or age only restricted ATP accepted--1500+TT, all ATP flight requirements satisfied, age 21/22 pilots....for "age only" R-ATP, the "R" drops off when pilot turns 23.

PM me if you have more questions.

Why not switch jobs if your whole goal is to get to the regionals? I had a flying job that I enjoyed when I was a fresh CPL but I wasn't getting enough hours or stable enough pay. I finally decided to move across the country and took a CFI job that let me fly up to 100 hours per month and got to ATP minimums within a year.

The way the regionals are hiring right now I'm sure there are plenty of jobs out there where a 1,000 hour pilot could fly more than 20 hours per month.

Thanks!

I kind of figure that RAE doesn't apply to me and I might as well force myself to be patient

if you satisfy the items below and university gets on FAA's approved RAE "list", pass ATP written, should be able to take ATP checkride for R-ATP during your regional PIC type training

You're right, there is. Only thing is that CFI and me, don't go together. There's a reason why I only have about 500 of duel given. I gave it my best and teaching is just not in me, or so my boss told me lol How much I would love to switch jobs but there pretty much isn't anything I can do until I at least hit 1200...

Man! Life is full of hard decisions

Does anyone know the actual dates for the classes in Jan? I know there's a December 30th CRJ and Bro class so I imagine the January classes are later in the month?

I looked at the list, the University that I attended just got added a week ago. This means that schools are still being added. The FAA is probably still behind from the shutdown.
