Bring a headset for sim. You won't need it for ground school or matrix so if you're planning on going home before sim you don't necessarily need to bring it right away. You'll need it by FTD. Some instructors are nice and don't make you wear it. Others will make you wear it the whole time.

On Friday I received notice for the 25 Nov CRJ class--waiting on the Welcome Aboard packet and New Hire Study Guide to arrive. In the meantime, I hope someone can provide some answers.
1. Domicile Decision -- the available domicile options will be provided early in training...how long does one have to provide list of preferred domiciles? Will I have access to the crew management system for information to help make that decision?
you should do the bids for your base around the 2nd week. You will have access to SWOL after day 2 or so. Plus ask around from the instructors or others transitioning or recurrent on any advice.
2. Training Timeline -- is there a break in training between ground/academics and simulators or does the training continue for 5-6 consecutive weeks? depending on the sim availability things will be pretty quickly. The only time you might wait is around IOE.
3. Personal Equipment -- should I take my own headset to training? Does SkyWest have a specific requirement?
your own headset is fine.
Minor questions to fill my time until my Study Guide arrives.
Thank you in advance.

Hey guys, just got the call for the December 30th CRJ class. I got the study packet, do I need to know all the CRJ 200 limitations in there or just the ones highlighted by the gray boxes? Anything else I can look at to get ahead before I start class since I have 6 weeks? Thanks for the info!

Just study the bold 200 limitations for day 1 of class. Once you're closer to the systems test start looking at the non-highlighted limitations.

If you guys have an iPhone, there's an app called "Flashcards Deluxe" I recommend. Under the Quizlet library, you can download Flashcards for the CRJ and Brasilia. It helped me a ton for memorizing all that stuff.

I see the app is $3.99, but the is a "Lite" version for free.

I've taken both systems tests and they were the same way. I was surprised at how well they prepare you. My whole class for both bro and CRJ got 90+.
