The 8 leg days will be going away with the new rest rules. The new pairings are going to be weak to say the least. Will probably leave a lot of EMB people scrambling to hit the RJ. Those pairings should be better but will still leave people having to work about 1.5 days extra per month to make the same amount of pay. Then as 50 seaters get parked over the next few years, there will be a scramble to the bigger planes as more and more pilots slip backwards in seniority unless attrition can keep up with the downsizing, which is unlikely.

I flew the bro for just under a year, mostly as a lineholder. I think I only had an 8 leg day once, when I flowed up to PDX for the PDX-EUG shuttle. It was a lot of work, but the rest of the 4 day was easier.

From what I understand, most of the pairings are already in compliance, at least on the CRJ side. Is that not the case on the Brasilia?

This is the near and mid-term future for SKW.
It might get even worse if SKW loses it's current contracts to lower-paid pilot groups over the next 5-7 years. I suspect there won't be too much of that though, because even though some bottom feeders could undercut SKW, I doubt any of them they could staff massive growth.

Why is everyone worried about upgrade time? If you want a fast upgrade go to Great Lakes. Mainline has and will continue to hire FOs and Captains. The holy grail of 1000 turbine PIC is long gone. What matters now boils down to connections, education, checkairman, connections and connections. Get it?

Precisely. I know plenty of people that have been hired from the regionals to mainlines recently. An example of what Slats said. One was an FO with 0 TPIC but had connections at UA. Another was a checkairman with 0 connections at UA.
