Are you saying SKW can't find enough applicants already?

What equipment are the classes for? If both 120 & RJ, how are they being awarded?

Thanks.

There's no real hard cutoff but if they have to sort the pool, typically those with more turbine experience get the jet. CFI's and piston 135 get the Bro.

If you're assigned a jet class and want the Bro it doesn't hurt to ask. If you have turbojet experience and want the jet they might let you wait for a later class.

Source? The recent classes have been full and there are interviews almost every day right now.

I don't know why people are trying to pretend the regional pilot shortage is here. It's not.

The day that SkyWest needs to offer a $5,000 sign on bonus is the day the regional pilot shortage is here.

No, the day regional airlines start paying decent wages starting with the first year, I will believe it (50k should be the minimum).

Well good luck with that. Most legacy carriers don't have 1st year pay that starts at $50k.

Its likely to start at the less desirable regionals, like Great lakes. When those guys start canceling flights and flying junior man captain on captain, it will be the first sign the pool is drying up.

Like someone else mentioned though, doesn't necessarily mean a shortage of pilots, just a shortage of pilots willing to commute to reserve for $20k a year.

Does anyone know how many Skywest pilots have been hired the past two years? Since October 2011?

Thanks in advance.
