Don't put in your two weeks notice at your current employer until you absolutely have to and your class date is confirmed.

I hope.....
I'll be paranoid for the next 28 days that they may go on hiring freeze again.

I doubt that will happen. With new airframes arriving and guys leaving for bigger and better things, I think it will be a long time before SkyWest lets up on hiring again.
Good time to get in.

Do you think new hires will be hired directly on to the EMB-175? When are classes for the EJet due to start? I currently fly the 170/175 for another company, but I'm only on first year pay and Skywest seems like a much better place to be.

Right now there are only 3 FO's on the FO side of the 175 bid lost that don't have seat locks or after dates. I think most of the 175 FO's will be new hires when they start. Some say FO's aren't bidding it because they don't know the pay and seat lock but I haven't talked to a single FO that wants to transition over to it.

Don't think that new hires will go to the E175 until SkyWest takes over training. FSI doing it right now... So i would guess fall of 2014..

There won't be new hires on it for a while. The FAA will be all over the training center and I doubt Skywest will want to risk new hire failures during the first months. Even when they do start allowing new hires in it will still be the most senior airplane eventually. New hires will be competing with current Brasilia and CRJ FOs for those training slots. The first bids will go junior but once more bases, a pay scale and seat locks are announced it will go senior.

You're basing this on what exactly?

I really don't see the thinking behind it going senior unless there is a lot of sjs. The last bid 15 of the awarded 30 were here less than a year and a half
