Just wondering if anyone could let me know what the company policy is for my family to fly for free on SkyWest planes. I just got hired for the 2 Sept class so I don't know much about SkyWest benefits like that.

Welcome aboard!

You will have the chance to sign up for non-revenue benefits thru Delta, United and US Airways (regardless of what you fly/where you're domiciled). If you fly Am. Eagle routes on the CRJ out of LAX, you can sign up for AA non-rev bennies, and the same applies if you managed to fly for Alaska in the northwest (very senior CRJ pilots up there). Flying for free on "SkyWest planes" is only an option thru one of the above non-revenue agreements, although we (usually... ) get better priority on our own metal than main-line employees.

There are fees for enrolling in each non-revenue program, and you can't apply day one...so you'll have time to do your homework before you have to pay your $$. But it's one benefit that's still available. Just remember, it is STANDBY travel, and does not always work out.

Can someone give me an idea of what kind of schedule you can expect out of PSP on the EM120 side. What does reserve look like? Once you do hold a line, what is a typicall schedule as far as routes, overnights ect...

The reserve schedules are 11 days off per month. They are usually 5 on 2 off and 4 on 3 off and some times a 4 day off block. The overnights will probally be lots of Yuma, Santa Barbara, Carlsbad, and Bakersfield. The Southern California flying is lots of legs.

Cool, thanks! I start class on the 2nd and I hope to get PSP or LAX. Just wondering what to expect. Any idea on how long to hold a line out of PSP?

Me too! I'm guessing you must be in SoCal somewhere?

There are lots of transition classes going on right now and hardly anyone is seat locked anymore because of the recent stagnation. My guess is that you're going to move up fast. In this next class coming up there are 10 FOs leaving from SFO alone. I'm guessing people will start getting lines within a month or two in a lot of bases.

That will eventually slow down as more and more people end up seat locked but you're getting in at a good time. to be close to the top.

During 31 day months you get 12 days off on reserve.
