Mostly it is the way the union contract was negotiated as some other regionals do the same. It's not much to put up with to average 14 days a month off and have an average six figure career earnings ..

July being a busy month where you have to work a lot?? Ya no one expects that, what a suprise. Go ahead and call in sick when you aren't sick. Eventually it will bite you in the rear. As far as not having a commutable trip goes, well you made that choice sir..

Not sure why I’m explaining this to someone like you but they closed my base which forced me to start commuting and no one expects 98 block hours even during the busiest month of the year. As for calling in, my family comes first..... period! SkyWest understands that and doesn't have a punitive policy.
Its posters like you that deter possible contributors and give forums a bad name. I don’t say this often but you are a tool. You’re probably some keyboard punching smart mouth who grows a pair when he’s hiding behind a screen name. But go ahead and say you’re not, we all know better.

What the hell's up your skirt? Life’s too short to be such a prick.

It is people like you that give pilots a bad name, you know the ones that call in sick whenever they don't feel like going to work/think they deserve holidays off when they can not hold it. Quick question what is your seniority level in your base? Generally speaking the more junior you are the more you have to work....

So, am I reading this right: Skywest can build you guys lines with 98+ hours? Really?

FWIW July is when I have the 63 hour line. My base is overstaffed and I've been getting nice schedules even being junior. It's not always doom and gloom.

I doubt this guy works for SkyWest and yes since we can legally work 100 hours in a calendar month, SkyWest can build your line up to 98 block hours leaving a 2 hour buffer. It's rare but it happens.
