You can always ask for what you want, they might give it to you regardless.
I was in one of the Spring EMB classes, and about half our class had over 2000TT with previous turbine experience. I had that and a recent jet type and was offered either, but took the EMB as it was an earlier class (better seniority). Some of us were given a choice, and some were just told this is where we need you right now... But that was 6 months ago, so maybe things are different now.

As staffing on the jet has started to reach a more normal level, I think that if you want the bro they would give it to you.
One thing to keep in mind is that you will probably make more money on the EMB the first year if you get FAT or PSP as a base. I was only on reserve for a few weeks before getting a line on the EMB, and the difference in pay was fairly substantial (as well as QOL). Of course, the risk is getting stuck in the EMB after the year seat lock, but with the way things are going that currently doesn't appear to be an issue as long as you're willing to take any jet base after the seat lock is up. Plus, the EMB is a lot of fun to fly with great crews/overnights on the West Coast system... I'm very happy with my decision to pick the EMB so far!

I think you made a good decision. A lot of the seat locks on the Brasilia side are starting to come up now, so there will be some (possibly significant) movement over the next few months from the EMB to the CRJ. The CRJ guys that were hired over the past few months will be losing base seniority while the Bro side will be gaining base seniority. Fortunately nobody can be displaced from a base due to seniority, but it can certainly mean going from a line/composite back to reserve for some of the CRJ people in smaller bases. Just my theory, I guess we'll see how the next few months pan out...

Good luck on your training, PM me if you have any questions and I'd be glad to help!
