Question: The test in the back only has certain blank items on the charts (mostly 200 limits and mostly the basic stuff). Are those the only ones you're responsible for knowing on day 1 or is it a new random assortment of blank boxes on the test?

Why are they hiring?
The summer is over the winter is a slow down. The summer is the hump you have to get over and once you've passed it you don't really need to hire.

Good question. Just attrition? The new USAIR flying? Haven't had a good 00 rumor for some time now.

New US Airways flying (14 aircraft) Jan 1st.

** NEW RUMOR **
CC has a meeting with AAG in SEA the first week of October.
** END RUMOR **

And, we're still short FOs. At least my schedule tells me so.

We did hear that they slowed hiring due to less than expected attrition. Upgrade time is libel to be very long. If you're looking for a quick upgrade take the Brasilia (3-4 years?). If you're looking for a job that will land you in the right seat for 6-7 years then go to the jet (you'll make about 15K more a year btw except year 1 where you will make 12K). That is the bottom line right now. Could change tomorrow but I doubt it. All the majors have to do is cut RJ flying and increase their wide-body and we're stucked. Didn't American, Delta, United, etc. put in orders for more wide-bodies? hmmmmmm....

AMR, UA, DA are very slowly taking new aircraft to replace old frames. They may actually begin slowing their replacement programs due to the crappy economy. The freighter companies are slowing their intake of frames too. Atlas/Cargolux

How long is it taking for new hires to hold a line? Specifically IAH.

New hires based in IAH that started mar/Apr 2011 are composite or reserve. So holding a line hired today in IAH could be next summer or maybe sooner depending on many factors.
