Easy to say when you are already on the seniority list. When you have turned down multiple job offers because you have a class date, then it gets canceled, you begin to get worry a little. All I am looking for is a firm class date so I can make decisions and plan my life.

I understand. I'm no stranger to the world of 121 and I know that things can change at the last minute. I was just hoping that someone with some reliable inside information could share what they know.

We have. Everyone agrees that March is the word in the crew room this coming from an "interview team member" Now that could change to sooner or later. I know it isn't ideal but it is what it is. Guys have waited much longer in the pool here. It's up to you, wait patiently or get upset and move a long. Either way, good luck.

Reliable info is that hiring plans depend depend on what happens with Pinnacle, we're waiting until at least Jan 15th before making further decisions.

I'll sit tight and wait my turn.

Airline staffing is very tricky since the company has to speculate on future block hours and attrition. Currently we are overstaffed for the winter, now come peak season who knows.
So relax & be patient. SkyWest won't drop you.

SkyWest is one of the only airlines that will hold onto its poolies for years. Just ask the 2008 hires who waited almost 3 years, and some of them had their class canceled 2 days prior to start. You can cry about it all you want but that's how this industry works, from top to bottom.
I can't wait 3 years for a regional airline to call me, but if its only 2 or 3 months, i'll sit tight. Any longer though and i'll have no choice but to accept another offer, probably overseas.
I'm not complaining, just trying to gather as much information as I can before I make a decision.

So how does Skywest treat people who are in this situation that end up taking an offer say flying King Air's and then in a year or so try and re-interview? I have a pretty solid offer and have to make a decison in a couple of weeks at the latest. I am feeling pretty stupid even thinking about turning it down only to wait for what may take a long time to come.
I am also in the pool.

In my experience, SKW will work with you. They have folks on the hiring team that do a great job. If it comes down to accepting your KA gig, communicate that with your contact. Who knows, if you decide to head to SKW down the road at the most you will come in for another chat and box lunch. Good luck.
