I'm still pretty new and learning the system but if there's one thing I've learned for sure so far this is it.

Correct. Normally airlines hire 3-4 months prior to the busy seasons if they feel they'll be shorthanded. So Feb-Mar for summer, and Aug-Sep for winter holidays.

I see the other larger regionals are predicting lots of hiring in 2013. I hope Skywest follows suit, and this slowdown is just a brief correction period.

Hopefully 9E pilots vote no otherwise you'll see other respected regionals falling into to same rates as 9E just to be competitive.... Voting yes then coming here undermines your pay.

Was supposed to be in Jan 28th class. Called the HR folks today to verify it was still going (current company wants to put me back on the line after brief office stint in lieu of furlough) and they told me class cancelled most likely delayed until Feb.....

I was told that the Jan class was canceled and will likely be held in Feb instead. Are you sure the are no classes in Feb either?

Feb is the rumor on the SkyWest forums, FWIW.

Interesting. I interviewed back in November and was awarded a Jan 28th class, which was subsequently canceled.
I assume they are taking a break right now, and will ramp up hiring in a couple of months in time for the summer?
I can't wait forever, but I know if I accept another job offer somewhere else, the phone will ring on day 1 of indoc.
