They have been for years. Have you been living under a rock?
I personally know pilots at United, Delta, American and Alaska who have been hired within the past 3 years with zero Turbine PIC time. Of those airlines United has hired the most of them. Not all of them had family connections and some of them were white males too.

Next thing you're going to tell me is they don't have college degrees and multiple failed checkrides?

Within 120 hours it is still 150%. The only difference is that flying further out that 120 hours can be picked up for 115% or 130% instead of just straight time. Those trips were always in open time further out for straight time, and people used to pick them up for straight time. I'm not really sure why everyone is complaining. Nothing about the 150% was given up.

All of the people I knew who went to majors with no TPIC had at least a bachelors degree and all had a clean record. I've heard through people who talked to United recruiters at recent job fairs that United says they're starting to relax their college degree requirements a bit. That's just hearsay though so take it with a grain of salt.

And here I thought Mesa's PBS software was bad.... SKW's is *way* less flexible.
And the ORD CRJ pairings blow for commuters. Anybody have a rough idea of how many ORD CRJ FOs commute?

There are a good number of prior military pilots flying in the right seat here at SkyWest. Most of them have MEL and Turbine PIC time but for whatever reason needed to do some 121 flying. Maybe they had no recency or just that the majors hadn't called and they didn't want to be without a job when getting out of the service.
