Currently looking at making a lateral jump from TSA to skywest. I would be interested in the E175. How junior is DEN? How long is upgrade? What are the average days off as an FO? Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

DEN is fairly Jr. on the CRJ. Pretty Sr. on the 175. Expect to see little to no movement at all in DEN on the 175.

Upgrade is a completely moving target. RIght now just under 4 years and falling. But as everybody knows, current upgrade times are almost meaningless. Everybody is saying 2 year upgrades for new hires, but again who knows........

Max duty days just went from 20 to 19 in the new pay package. So that means min days off are either 11 or 12 depending on the month. As, a middle of the road seniority CRJ FO I have 15 days off for Feb. I could probably get more if I was more aggressive with my bid.

Why are you thinking about leaving TSA?

Also, the 175 is wayyy overstaffed right now, but that could change going forward, as the new additional (37?) airframes start coming online in the 2nd half of this year. Just expect a much longer reserve time on the 175 currently.

I would highly advise all new-hires to go with the CRJ. It will provide much more movement going forward, as more current people transition over to the 175. I expect the 175 to continue to get more and more Sr. as time goes on.

If you are serious about getting to DEN, the CRJ is far and away the better option. 175 new hires are pretty much guaranteed to be in ORD for quite awhile I think.

Yeah totally.
I got SFO out of training and PDX when I wanted it. Currently hold a line. Basically, it matters greatly when you hit the line and if there's movement. I got pretty lucky.

I could have held a transfer to any base at Skywest when I hit about 1.5 years as an FO. Unless the base you're referring to is LAX with Compass then Skywest is still probably the place to be on the west coast.
