They always award transfers before transitions, and they will arbitrarily decide not to run transition classes while keeping the new hires coming. The same happened on the Brasilia and it'll happen with CRJ -> 175 too.

Re, the latest DVR, what is the likelihood that they will backfill vacancies created by awarded transfers/transitions/upgrades? They didn't backfill anything last month from what I can tell.

Found this nugget in the Forbes article found here:
http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/re...consolida.html
1. Is this true??
2. If true, this would appear to mean that Skywest is NOT a place a regional applicant wants to go (see: reserve times, upgrade, etc.)??

1. As mentioned that includes Express Jet, SkyWest management have been extremely good about placing aircraft that go off lease with another carrier. Skywest just had 72 new hires for the CRJ alone and Im guessing another 10-20 for 175.
2. In my somewhat biased opinion, unless you have the hours for Direct entry captain, skywest or compass are your best bets.

The release that I saw only said 72 new hires for the CRJ, it didn't mention numbers for the ERJ, Im assuming its mostly transitions since senior bases are opening and junior bases such as ORD are way way way overstaffed (215 odd FOs on list , 100 lines)

There's 16 new hire E175 FO's in January in the seniority list, just taking a quick glance.

Anyone know how long it takes to get TUS based. Looking for a regional that will keep me in Arizona. Thanks!
