Does anyone have info on MSP? I would love to be based where I live and I am wondering about what reserve is like, is MSP had to get, what the trips are like (lots of turns or 2,3,4 day trips)?

Also, does Skywest offer DAL and UAL non-rev passes for the wife and kids? Are those days gone now?

Thanks,
Bob

PS - if anyone is interviewing on Nov. 13th let me know.
I'm pretty sure you could hold MSP right out of training as long as you are on the CRJ since it is a very junior base. Not really sure how the trips are there though. I'd imagine mostly 3-4 day trips with a mix of 2 days and locals as well. Your family can fly for free on Delta and United by paying a fee each year. Good luck!

This used to be true, and I took great advantage of it. But I have not seen a UA flight that was not oversold in about two years.

DAL is slightly better...family can still nonrev if you are very flexible about when you go. And if you don't get on the flight you planned, odds are that everything else is oversold for days or weeks.

If you really want to just jump on a plane and go, you need to be able to jumpseat.

GC - I am current with sitting at a desk but that is it. I have no internal references either.

Drums4life & rickair7777 - thanks for the info. My wife and kids miss the non-reving (even with all the troubles) so it seems like a pretty big benefit to be able to use more than one major.

Getting MSP right out of training is not a guarantee I think the last class went to ORD and maybe a few to COS and DEN MSP is a junior domicile however you may not hold a line for maybe a year cause the guys coming off of the Bro seat lock will push you down, the trips are a mix bag Paring breakdown for NOV 1 day trip 2.5%, 2 day trip 20.6%, 3 day trip 15.7 %, 4 day trip 61.2 % Standups go pretty Senior, the trips can be more productive IMO, Non-Revving is hit or miss you have to be really Flexible and I mean Really FLEXIBLE if you are going Delta Hub to Hub you can almost forget non-revving

Yea it is much harder but my parents have always made it to where they have wanted on both United and Delta. They just have to be a little flexible with their travel plans and sometimes leave a day earlier than originally planned.
