Can anyone recommend a good "Wallet" to carry my passport, medical, and certificates in? I looked at sportys, aircraft spruce, and searched the forums. No hits...

I'm sure someone makes something for pilots.
Thanks in advance.

I got a leather passport wallet from Duluth Pack. Not cheap but it's made right here in the USA. Holds all my stuff except what I need hanging from a lanyard

Does any SKW pilot use the David Clark DC Pro-X ANR headsets in the Embraer 175s?

I am tempted to buy a set but have read reviews about Hot Mic in airliners being loud and always turning the intercom mic off because the DC doesnt have Mic Bias. The headset is so lightweight that when you look up to the overhead panel the headset either falls off your head or moves so much you have to readjust the whole headset with two hands. The headset is on ears rather than around ears and when you chew gum or have a conversation or have a eat meal in flight you get lots of air noise leaking through and lose the seal. Also the ANR doesnt help w the jet air noise and since that is mostly what we get in our plane, there isnt much ANR benefit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I've been using the DC-Pro-Xs in the CRJ for about 6 months now. They took a little getting used to from my old-school David Clarks (the big ones), but now than I'm used to them they are awesome.

It's true, the Hot Mic is louder than many, but it's not a big issue at all. I normally keep the hot mic off when I'm not talking anyway (common courtesy anyway?)

It's very light weight, but also very adjustable, so I've never had a problem with it staying put on my head, it's never fallen off. You just have to adjust it properly. The on ear cup seals did take a little getting use to, but once you find the sweet spot, its not an issue at all. It's weird, I did have problems with the ear cup seals leaking at first, but now that I've had them for a bit, I don't have issues at all any more. Again, just have to get used to them.

Noise reduction is superb, including the wind noise in the jet. I have no regrets, overall it's a great headset, just takes some time to get used to. To me it's a no brainer, $400-500 cheaper than the Bose A20s.

I used a generic passport wallet or booklet. Had space for my passports and all my docs

Its a stepping-stone to a major and the company knows it and treats the pilots accordingly. The pilots act accordingly and don't make the union stand up to the company. If you don't like your lot in life change it. Become a union rep and fight for your fellow pilots; move to another airline; or do something else. You all need to grow a pair and do something positive. An outsider looking in.
Being on the outside looking in is a great place to be. When I was in your position, SW was IMO one of the best regionals out there. Lots of movement and when I was hired upgrade was at about 2-2.5 years. There was a union drive going on but since I was still in my first year, I wasn't able to vote (back when we cared about that type of thing) Then the economy crashed, age 65 happened and I felt fortunate that I had a job even if I was on reserve for several years. I guess what I am trying to say is while you are building hours you try to look around and get information about a company, but you truly never know what you are going to get until you are hired and been with a company for a couple years.

I don't think Cape Air has a union, but hopefully you take your own advice and become a union rep to help get them a union if you get on there. Maybe after you are hired you will be able to see how easy it is to just move on when the company screws you over a couple times. Hopefully you will be able to use the regionals as the stepping stone they are supposed to be. Check back in with all of us after a couple years in this rat race and let us know how easy it was for you to follow your own advice and help us "grow a pair"

Yes sir , this exactly ! Also another company overseas . But I also really like the plane. Worked on them back in the day as a ramper. Always had it in the back of my head to fly one eventually.

I just got a Visconti passport holder (search Amazon) for Christmas. I like that there are spaces for other things like our medical, pilot license, etc. Multiple color options.
