If you wanna be out west, take the EMB first year and transition to the jet after the seat lock is up. It pays the same and will give you a lot of rich flying experience. Taking the jet and hoping the music doesn't stop is a pretty big gamble. More often than not it pays to be careful in this business
In less than a year someone can have a guaranteed line in SFO, LAX, PSP, and FAT on the Brasilia. I will never understand why so many people fight to get on the RJ right away then complain about being stuck in ORD or MSP when they want to live in LA. Especially since the pay is the same first year.
If the music stops, you are going to be stuck...last time it was for almost 4 years. Would you rather be stuck on Bro pay in Cali or commuting to the east?
One advantage to the Bro is that if you fly it as an FO, it will be a LOT easier to upgrade on that beast even if you go fly the RJ before upgrading. We have plenty of jet FO's who got hired into the jet and too afraid of the Bro to attempt an upgrade (Bro upgrade opportunity comes a lot sooner than the jet).

I was given a choice of Bro or RJ, and took first available which turned out to be the Bro. I loved it... I was holding a line within a few weeks, and just had a blast. It is way more fun to be paired with new CAs IMO, as they actually do value your opinion and the two of you help each other out throughout a 4 day.
By the time I transitioned to the RJ (one year later), I was able to hold a line in at least 50% of the jet bases. The new hire RJ guys on the other hand, kept seeing their seniority go down in base as former bro guys transitioned in. It was a risk, knowing I could get stuck in FAT on the bro. But considering how the industry was looking, I felt it was a small risk.

Pick your poison.

When I went through initial training we had 8 upgrade captains in class and only one had flown the bro before. They were all pretty stressed out during training in sim, but now on the line they're all a lot of fun to fly with. It might be a little different but it didn't seem that bad.

Anyone get a "mandatory questions" form prior to getting an interview? I put my info. in AirApps last week and I would like to get an interview but I am not sure if this is good news or if it goes out to everyone that uses AirApps.
Thanks,
Bob
