It's all about control. AS and JO want to have all this control over the pilots even if it costs them in the long run. The simple fact is that what worked before 117 doesn't work anymore. We have all seen that with the reduced ability to drop trips and overall reserve efficiency. That it makes sense for them to DH a reserve from the west coast to MSP or ORD to cover a quick 1:30 RT vs allow a MSP or ORD pilot to stack that RT on the end of their trip is insane.

Award the pilots the trips they want (within DEFINED parameters) and allow the open time to be picked up by reserves or line pilots. Keep an adequate reserve compliment (at least 15%, not 5%) The amount of work that goes into keeping reserves from breaking guarantee or not paying open time at time and a half is mind boggling. And the simple fixes that are not put in place that would be huge QOL improvements should show everyone how much the company cares about the pilot group.

According to the rsr rep we should have about 100 fo and captains but Skywest is reluctant to open it up. So right now the base is stagnant, but everyone has seen a major increase in the flying. I was awarded 98 hours of block. Everyone I've talked to was awarded around the same. They are going to have to open up the base soon.

2 choices, man up, and accept the reality that you will either have to commute or relocate frequently, or find another career choice. Sleeping on your Spider-Man sheets and gazing at your Fathead poster of Emminem in your mom and dads basement will have to end someday.
If the thought of not sleeping in your parents basement scares you, you are gonna love TDY reserve out of base, 5 days of glorious 1 3/4 star hotel sitting watching a tube tv with 3 channels and wifi with the speed of smoke signals, and you might get to go do a turn with the #1 bid avoid CA in the domicile.
Maybe the guy has kids, dbag.

I've heard your wish is about to come true, you can choose whether to believe me or not.

You've never given me a reason to NOT believe you. I think we just see the same thing from different sides of the fence. But you will need to be more specific. I had a lot of wishes in my post!!

If you are saying aggressive pickup is coming that would be good news. If you are saying that AS and JO will lose some form of control and SGU will start treating pilots like an integral part of the business and work together with us towards QOL improvements that benefit the company and the pilots, that is even better news!!

You are a douche of epic proportions. Just because you were screwed in your career does not mean he will be. If you are so disgruntled do us all a favor and just quit. People like you are the reason there is even a need for prostandards.

Looking forward to being cautiously optimistic with your prediction.
