Sorry it wasn't my intent to make it sound like training is hard. You need to put the work in, but I felt everyone there would do whatever necessary to help you pass. My comment was more directed that we used to hire people we were confident would be able to pass training. (CE) Now we want training to weed them out which it is doing.

Two different schools of thought. Some would look at it as a waste to spend the time training someone that is not going to make it and take a seat from someone who would do better. But we all know the new name of the game is get as many pilots as you can while you can.

But just remember, there is not a shortage and we are only losing 20 or so people per month. Say that enough times and it has to come true.

I wonder how much it costs the company to have these guys trained just to fail out. Certainly doesn't look good when you have to put on your app that you failed a 121 initial training event too.

Never will happen, per MT.

Apparently it was a ploy to get embraer to come to the table which blew up in their faces?

That seems excessive. To my knowledge, we've lost three...but I will compare the class rosters to the seniority list later tonight or tomorrow to verify.

We've had a mess of people get sick over the past week in ATL though. Heard they had FlightSafety wipe down the sim pretty good today to stem the tide.

A bit more than that I'll say. I moved up 144 numbers on seniority since I was hired (August), I was the highest social sec number and I didn't know of anyone washing on the 3 classes that were on training at the same time, except 1 guy that didn't show up at our class.
