Houston is shrinking. 5 FO's left on this bid and the rumor in IAH is the 700 contract is done so who knows if there will even be an IAH base for OO next year. In the last year we are down 40 crews in Houston.

I don't think you need to worry I call it another 2 months before you get in. We have 10 guys about to upgrade in Houston that will make room for you.

40 crews? Not true. The entire time I've been around Houston has been 90 fos.

Then you haven't been around Houston long. We were at 122 FO's. The last bid pack had 85 FO's and 5 left on the last vacancy and were not back filled. You do the math.....

Make that 59, we lost three to the systems test.

Good, if you can't pass the system test on the first try, you don't belong working at SkyWest, or any airline for that matter.

So usually not a huge deal, I think you need to really have a lot of days/issues with a repeatable pattern to get on the radar.
Talked to a buddy today (not me, really). He has 20 occurrences in the past 12 months and just got an email to come for an in-person meeting with the chief. Looked like an auto-generated email. Looks like they're cracking down a bit. Of course, when your bidding system gives away PNs and CNs like they're candy, what in heck's name does OO management expect to happen to pilot reliability?

20 occurrences is a lot. Not arguing about the PN/CN thing though. One captain I flew with the other day said he had an FO call in sick for an entire month, simply because he didn't feel like working...umm.
