Well AS just signed a 14 year deal with SkyWest to fly 175's. So i guess in 14 years the base could close.. But if you can predict 2 years out in the regional world your doing good....
Couple of questions, since I live close to Chicago. How long is it taking new hires on CRJ reserve to hold a line at ORD? And once someone does get a line, how long will it take to accumulate 1000 hours SIC for upgrade?

12 months, pretty standard to get your upgrade token.

Skywest
With the big maintenance base out in BOI, I would bet Horizon operated 175's would be in PDX and the BOI flying would go to Skywest. Can't imagine PDX-BOI and SEA-BOI is how Alaska wants to use 175's (at least right now), that must just be for the mx base. It would make more sense for the long(ish) legs out of BOI to be on a 175. Who knows, and like you said, that's a few years out at the earliest anyway.
