In other news, we have over 3700 pilots.

- I can drop a trip to reserves or at least break up a trip
- My bid can complete while keeping my trips without requiring 85+ hours
Until then, it doesn't matter if we have 4,000 pilots IMO. Plus it will be interesting to see what happens once we start having the MRS for Open Time. My prediction is that it won't make any difference and we still won't be able to drop or swap trips.

I'll start celebrating when one or both of these things happen:

Minimum Reserve Staffing. CS is supposed to go at the beginning of the month and establish minimum numbers of reserves for each base and open time will pay a higher percentage if they are below this level. Another one of those vague promises that were in the pay package that sounded great when you look at it, but implementing it will be a whole different story. My feeling is the number will be put at something that won't trigger the higher open time percentage but still not enough for us to drop anything. I would love it if it worked out in our favor, but I unfortunately use past experience with CS and company interpretation of policy to form my judgement.

The company decided to do the right thing since we are best served by maintaining our current environment of open and honest communication. /sarcasm (source: Our Union-Free Statement)
They actually just decided to keep doing it the way we have always done it, and that is adding additional flying or moving line holders off their awarded trip as long as it falls within the original footprint. They have someone waiting for the door to open and run in and notify you to call crew support. Since they are doing that, there is no dialog between SAPA and the company about a re-flow policy.
Supposedly they can't use the EFB for notification purposes. If that stays true, it will be a win for us. But it always seems that our wins get interpreted different and we really end up losing. I guess time will tell.
