So I understand you saying we should get more applicants with a higher rate, but all the communication from SGU is that we are doing just fine and not having a problem hiring. I'm aware that we gave the new guys a 25% raise, while saying to management that we are only worth 1.5% every other year. But I just think we are getting as many as we can get right now. If we are able to hire an additional 20-30 each month, that just means our IOE will be longer than it currently is.

Let's take July for example. 2 new hire ERJ for a total of 24, yet we lost 10 ERJ FO's. So a net gain of 14. We had a couple transition classes but let's just look at net gain. Now on the CRJ we had one new hire class (of 12 I am assuming?) And yet we lost 27 CRJ FO's (8 out of training alone) so a net loss of 15. Overall only a net gain of 1 pilot. The last Chief Pilot update showed only one CRJ class per month until September and only 2 ERJ per month.

If we were paying attention as a group, we would notice how many sims were purchased for the ERJ and how many hiring classes we are doing and realize that there is flying out there that SW is planning on getting. How much did Republic's stock drop when they announced they couldn't staff the flying? And yet 60% of our pilots felt that CC and MT were perfectly fine with going to the BOD and telling them we were going to have to shrink if we didn't accept our 1.5% and some bonus that nobody still has any idea what it will pay.

Congrats on being off reserve for so long. I haven't been on reserve for years, but I don't forget the hell it was. Everyone is so worried about taking care of the new guys with higher pay but don't give a crap about fixing reserve. The company would have to take away power from AS and JO and maybe spend a little coin on some software for proffering. But just like they are behind on this hiring wave, they will not make any changes until it is too late. The QOL slide will continue and then SW will realize they maybe should've spent a little time or money on keeping guys around. I am shocked to see how many I considered lifers that are updating their apps. Good thing because we know how expensive those 15-20 year guys are and we can always just hire more to replace them. Right??

How dare you use intelligence and logic! Someone hash't been drinking the mandatory Kool-aid...

Tons of RFP's to bid on (obviously) and management is confident they can staff it all with the new first year pay rate.

Of course they are confident they can staff it. With the extra UA 175s about to be announced, it will lead to an even bigger reduction in 50 seat RJs leading to a smaller required workforce. The shrinkage plan is working out per previous communications.

Get upgrade times down and they will come in droves. I agree tho we will lose some 50 seaters. I wonder where the united birds will be based, if they are republics then prob ORD?

Well United has handed out all the large RJs it can by scope, so the only way to put another large RJ online is to replace a large RJ. 50-sweaters don't matter in this equation. So United will have to get rid of some undesirable large RJs to put E-175s online in their place.

Would any SkyWest pilot be able to post an update to the most current pay/benifits? Maybe something like this post?

Or take large RJs from one carrier to give to another which is the most likely case here since RAH is having issues

I meant scope wise, not physically. They have some on order they probably won't take delivery of
