I think Air Wisconsin and Horizon are the only two with a trip rig. Air Wisconsin is 4:1, I'm not sure about Horizon's.

Not many regionals have duty rigs either, I think the two mentioned above plus Skywest and ASA are the only few.

If you remember, beer one thing and one thing only, SAPA is bought, paid for, and is for the company's benefit/advantage. SKYW will only negotiate for things that they will never have to pay, ie EMB120 pay rates.

Exactly, it does hardly anything for us, a bigger mdg would cost the company more.

No to trip rigs.

Are you kidding? While the trip rig may not affect you personally, it is always a good thing. Will also keep pairings from declining further. I'm not a fan of the offer, but saying no to a trip rig is asinine.

Unless you get a pairing like this 4 day. (I've edited out some of the detail)

D-END: 1643L REPT: 0626L 1343
D-END: 1145L REPT: 0500L 1715
D-END: 1314L REPT: 0520L 1606
D-END: 1045L -----------------------
TOTALS BLOCK 1355 DHD 103 LDGS: 11 CREDIT 1624 TAFB 7329 TFDP 2242
================================================== ======================

This pairing will now pay nearly another two hours. 1821 vs 1624.

It may only be a small percentage of trips, but they are out there and someone has to fly them.

If you can convince management to bump up the MDG to 4:30 or 5:00 I'm all for it.

Another MSP gem.
TOTALS BLOCK 1601 DHD 0 LDGS: 10 CREDIT 1629 TAFB 7951 TFDP 2553 -- this would pay nearly another 3 1/2 hours

Sorry, I don't know if you are a SkyWest pilot or not, but the guys who get to vote should take some time to evaluate the differences. It is definitely not the same proposal. Just for starters:

Shorter term (3 years)
Higher MDG at 4:12
Trip Rig 1:4
PPS Guaranteed value of $5.4M-$6.3M per year
More guaranteed days off (12-13 for reserves now, and 11-12 for lineholders)
FAR 117 pay protections
Slightly higher rate increases (1.5%)

Its a few thousand dollars a year and some improved work rules for the average pilot.

Vote "no" if you like, but get yourself informed and don't believe everything you read on the forums. If this gets voted down, I think us pilots should get really comfortable with the current policy manual, 'cause it's going to be a LONG time before we see round three.

Lol. Are you by chance on first year pay. It took 3 months from the last vote to get this one done. Company is anxious to raise first year pay. I'm not sure which way I'm voting yet, but I'm not worried about getting stuck with the current deal. It's heading the right direction, but I think we can do better.

Default New Hire Questions

Hi guys, I'm getting out of the military and looking to apply to skywest and I was hoping you could help me out by answering a few questions. I live in San Diego and I've got two kids, so getting based out of LAX is a huge deal for me. As a new hire, how hard is it to get based out of LA, and how senior a base is it? Do they have a lot of reserve in LA or would I just be flying? Last, as a skywest pilot, do you operate for United, Delta and Alaska, or just one of them, and if it's just one of them, do you get any say on which one? Thanks in advance for any info. Reading these threads has been really helpful.
