Skywest
Pilots living in/near Salt Lake City:
Do you use the FrontRunner and Trax system to commute to the airport? Do you find it to be cheaper than driving? Are there any discount passes available to employees?
Part of our upcoming move to SLC will be based on cost of getting to the airport. UTA seems convenient, but I'd like to hear from you guys. Thanks!

No I think you're missing point. The point is, SkyWest doesn't just fly out of little old SLC and California anymore. And Southwest isn't doing tiny little island hops out of Love Field anymore. We're talking 5400 flights a day now across the US and Mexico that use a very similar call sign (Southwest and SkyWest). Its just another way to help differentiate ourselves from Southwest and safely operate two or more similar/identical flight numbers in the same airspace.
Ok, whatever you say. I know that you just couldn't help yourself (ego) and had to mention Alaska to Mexico, as if that's a big deal. That was the point.

One guy said it wasn't really any cheaper than driving, but he could spend the time reading, etc...he was coming in from down south near Orem.
I'm not sure if there are any discount passes for either service. I presume you are going to be based in SLC. Look up the admins # and give her a call, she'd have the info.
