Interesting good or interesting bad?

Yeah, bad wording on my part. In essence, the end result is what I stated. The lax 200s move to phx to finish the cpa that expires next year.

How many "interesting good" things have happened lately with the regionals?

Opinion:
Regionals are gonna struggle filling seats and fulfilling contractual obligations due to manpower UNLESS there is some type of reprieve obtained. There are several efforts being made to maintain the cheap labor supply that is the regional airline pilot.

1. The RAA and its lobbyist trying to repeal the ATP requirement.
2. The sudden discussion of changing the retirement age to 67.
3. The push that is coming to relax scope.
4. Flow through agreements that lock regional pilots into a pipeline.

These are things that will slow the long waited / earned movement from the regionals to the majors and will maintain the status quo.

I don't believe the ATP rule will be rescinded.
I do think the mandatory retirement age will be changed.
I do think the majors will cave on scope. Their management will dangle a ton of money in front of their pilots.
I do think flow through will be the carrot dangled in front of regional pilots.

Hence the interesting. Good for some, frustrating for others.

Yeah, probably not while the colgan families are still kicking.

Hopefully not while I'm still at SKW. But yes, eventually.

Right now, a lot of low/mid seniority major pilots are stilling stinging from the lost decade. So probably not much scope relief in the near future. Besides, how would they staff it?

Could be a good thing if the structure is pretty airtight. I don't object to dues paying in exchange for a clearly defined reward down the line. But too many guys paid dues for 15 years only to watch their barely-off-probation FO's get hired by legacies.

What are the junior bases for new hire pilots? How long does it take to move to another base after you bid for it?

Hey hows that new pay package coming? How about a suggestion for it. Instead of a sh@thouse healthcare which costs me 2300$ in case I need something done (deductible) how about a real health care plan which has no deductible and does not break my rocks when I need to just go for a checkup and fork over 150$. Granted it wouldnt be that bad if I was gonna be getting paid 30$ an hour but thats gone so.
