Sounds more like bitter blue.

Well the latest scam is 0700-1900...technically am but now they'll apply the 18 hour extension and expect you to cover anything, am or pm.

Yeah, I'll give them that. The fictional scenario was a real attention-getter, because it was entirely plausible and could have been real ugly...best outcome would have been waterloo, ie flame out on the taxi in.

That was a great video. Don't be the FO that sits there fat dumb and happy in the face of a confident CA: read the MEL, read the NOTAMs, read the MX history in the can. We all know the CA in that video; quite obviously an outstanding guy.

How hard would it be to say 'whoa' to him "hey can I take a look at that release amendment?", "let me check the notams again...".

The video was well done, but simply the company can't fix the issue. The FAA is all over us for these type of issues and they are expecting the pilot group to be the quality control for something that should be done from maintenance.

Did you see how many phone calls were involved with a simple problem?

It's why they fired, I mean retired, the last VP of maintenance and put DX under MT directly.

Can you imagine if every pilot said I'm not using my cellphone for a day to fix what the company can't?

Oh so that's the reason Flight Control no longer has to go through the VP of Flight Ops and can just talk directly to the Pres? Your logic is flawed.

No, my point is that if the pilot group decided to go and use a land line what the delays would add up too?

Management, that's what is flawed.

Sounds like your one of them? Yes?
