There's 70 targeted line holders with 7 reserve lines for ORD. there's 105 FOs in Chicago. How long will it take you to move up 7 spots? I'd say your time on reserve is limited to how long it takes the class behind you to finish at this point, usually a month.,,that's my opinion

Call me a pessimist, but the classes on the 175 have been to get crewmembers trained for aircraft that weren't on the property yet. We're nearing the end of the delivery for the 47 aircraft that we know that are coming, and I'd Imagine if we don't get more confirmed orders there won't be as many classes run in the future.

Since most of the FOs on the 175 are relatively new to the company and won't be able to upgrade for several more years, the FO list is going to stagnate for a while.

Of course this would all change with additional 175s.

Think we're just over halfway. More flying to come you can bet on it

The seniority list is showing 229 ER7 FOs. If they staffed it like the CRJ they'd only need about 240. Running 6 per aircraft it would be about 280.

Our current staffing model for the 175 calls for approx 12 per airplane.

That's 12 crewmembers -- 6 captains/6 first officers

Nope but if you really want the real answer just call Virginia.

Let me clarify a crew = 1 Capt + 1 FO ONE unit!

Like I said just call Virginia.

Seeing how we staffed the CRJ with less than 10 pilots per aircraft for the last two decades, it seems highly inefficient to need 24 pilots per 175.

But if you say it's 12 per seat that's fine. I still say they're just getting the pilots trained up before the aircraft show up.

btw, We have 31 175s now. With your 12 per seat that would be 372 FOs. Of those 229 FOs I mentioned earlier, 26 are still in training. Leaving 203 for the 31 aircraft or an average of just over 6 per aircraft.

It's no secret we have been behind the power curve with regards to staffing. That's nothing new. The balance we need is not to run too fat or too lean finding that balance is almost impossible because our staffing requirements is dynamic. So yes while we are chronically staffed on all airframes we are working on getting that fixed. Reference SL on the conference call yesterday!

Don't forget all the instructors also show up as FOs/CAs and at this point in time do 0 flying.
