Default Contract Signers Should be ashamed

THose of you new FOs that signed the contract should be ashamed. You needed an easy way to get ahead of your peers who were probably more talented, and now you have taken away any leverage the SkyWest pilot group has in the future when it comes to negotiations. Upper managment made it clear they are no longer worried about attrition since these FOs are now locked into a 5 year contract. What a disgrace.

negotiations? When did you all finally vote in a union? Oh that’s right you didn’t. Maybe if you did you could have prevented these stupid training contracts to begin with. Negotiations…That’s funny right there.

Speaking of funny....saying having a union at the regional level would prevent training contracts is flat out hilarious.

“Leverage”.. ha. Now thats funny. Even union airlines that have these same agreements have no leverage against this..

What leverage did you have? There is a line 3 years long of CFI’s wanting to get hired…. If your more talented, go to an operation hiring more talented SIC’s

I feel your post is misguided and out of resentment, perhaps because you did not sign and now will not be receiving a class date? Based on your 6 posts, you are full of hatred and animosity for whatever reason. They seem to center around people having no talent, no real substance on a resume, and getting ahead without merit. Unfortunately, this speaks greatly of your character, or lack thereof, and a person whom one would desire to not employ or work with. Regardless, as far as the contract goes, I hesitated, weighed out all of the options and signed. It is called business. Either learn how it works, or move on. Meanwhile, I will be enjoying my career. Best of luck.

Ive been at this company for 10 years. When I was hired you had to actually earn it, not just "sign on the line." You're part of the problem.

What leverage? They had to incentives captains staying, either with pay, or hopefully QOL perks. Now these guys are stuck here for at least 5 years. They once had to stem to the best of their ability captain attrition. Not anymore.

If you've been here 10 years you know SAPA doesn't negoitiate anything. The last pay package only came about because of Mesa. The one they put out a month before was so bad they pulled it before a vote. The previous one was incredibly bad in other ways. And frankly when they do get changes to the policies, it's almost always a negative for the pilot group. Reference the work into day off MOA, vacation policy, and the repeated negative changes to reserve.

As far as those signing the contract, there are 5000 others that haven't. And those 5000 don't have to compete with them for a job if they want to move on.
