Between the 2008 recession and retirement age change from 60 to 65, it literally set people's careers back 10 years.

It was not fun.
If my math is correct (and I’m not very good at math) 2024-10= 2014. 2014->2024, with the exception of Covid, was some very good times to get hired.

You a sucka for staying at Skypest.

I didn't stay, but one leaves when they have a chance. Not everything is cut and dried like that.

And by my math, the Lost Decade started in 2008, so the getting didn't get good until 2018, which means it didn't REALLY get good until early 2021. In fact it took the post COVID boom to get me away from that place. I'm glad I left (and I may now be one of SkyWest's biggest critics) and would make the same call all over again, but situations can be complicated and it's not that hard to imagine a scenario where someone would still be there.

Correct, you still needed a good Resume to get hired pre COVID. The hire anybody and everybody only happened from late 21 through mid 23. I still remember well qualified Regional CAs getting the TBNT when I started in the Regionals during the late teens. There used to be a thing that if you had too much Regional time you got passed over because you were considered untrainable. That really screwed those over hired int he late 00s as they were all appoaching 10,000 hours.

It seems like he had a bad taste in his mouth for leaving OO for his mainline job and wished he had stayed, LOL. If I had landed a job at Mainline, I would not even be on the Regional forums at all, but I bet he is getting bashed at the mainline forums and not even getting the time of the day with those mainline pilots LOL.

Seems to be the most logical conclusion for quite a few people on here....kind of baffling, and pathetic.

In my career I have spent a grand total of ZERO, I repeat, Zero minutes at skywest. But tell me more about what you think you know about my career.
