Is the 12% company match immediate now? I seem to remember it was the standard 3% or 4% with a 3 year vestment period, and the12% was available after...10 years? I could be mistaken...

I don't remember what I was getting when I left SkyWest, but I know it wasn't 12%.

it's likely he or she will get hired where there is no requirement to sign a contract and move on to a major carrier 2, 3 or even 4 years ahead of you and enjoy his or her career far more making much more quicker than you who is now ball chained to a regional. Sounds like they understand business better and don't feel the need to limit substantially their options. For the win! Fact.

You of all people don't have any room to say who understands the business or not. Now, get back to cleaning those fryers.

No. You being at Skywest for 10 years is the problem.

So. Back to the title of this thread. Should we add all the DL/UA/AA Captains that paid for there training at the like s of Comair/XJet back in the 90’s. Or even all the SWA pilots that paid for their 737 type rating??? Not sure where the same stops? Because you fly for a “major” its forgiven?

OK does this Agreement suck. Ya.. was it not seen coming… no… But the reality is. You’re making $50 more a hour then most people did here as a NH. So if you can get hired by a Major beside DL/UA then save up and pay the $80k back…Long run I'm sure it will work out for you.. My advice to anyone (mostly single under 30)that is set on flying for a Major. Go to a crapy Regional. It will make you want out as fast as you can get out..

Upper managment made it clear they are no longer worried about attrition since these FOs are now locked into a 5 year contract. What a disgrace.
Says the guy who voluntarily went to one of the only Airlines without a union. Are you serious bro? Glass houses

You would be surprised how many Part 121 pilots still think it is "anyone with a pulse" hiring environment out there for entry level Part 121 jobs. So out of touch.

Yes it is better overall by a very large margin (I was pretty senior when I left). Even if you have to fly a 737 (don't if you don't have to).

Would take too long to explain. I don't fault anyone for staying, I almost did. But that doesn't change the facts.
737, oooowowwwe scaaaarrrry. God forbid you fly a real airplane. Bunch of Naceys
