THose of you new FOs that signed the contract should be ashamed. You needed an easy way to get ahead of your peers who were probably more talented, and now you have taken away any leverage the SkyWest pilot group has in the future when it comes to negotiations. Upper managment made it clear they are no longer worried about attrition since these FOs are now locked into a 5 year contract. What a disgrace.

How you feel, or how my actions affect your life, mean absolutely nothing to me. I did not sign (or not sign) for your benefit. Again, this is business, learn it or move on!

10 years ago they fired the manager in charge of pilot hiring. A bunch of recruiters quit also. The reason why - management told them to hire everyone that showed up to the interview and they refused. The recruiters were actually saying no to certain pilots and upper management overruled them. They figured they'd just let the training department work it out. That's about the same time certain newhires were getting well over 100 hours of IOE.

You are probably right. Based on his/her posting and characteristics, he/she is a burned out CFI in their early 20's who recently hit 121 mins, refused to sign for whatever reason (their preference), and are being bitter about not getting hired. If they were a "10 year" employee, they would not have posts solely on new hire contracts, especially if said contract has ZERO affect on a person who holds 10 years of seniority. Bet my money it's a kid we don't want to fly with anyways. I see nothing but serious mental health issues. lol.

I remember when she was the one who decided whether you came into SkyWest or not. If you were a young Caucasian dude, you had a 98% chance of getting into the company. I'm glad they are all gone now.

Lol, SAPA. What a joke. I wouldn't say they were the reason that I left per se, but I was getting pretty frustrated with them by the end. They were basically an organization that relayed the will of managment. There was no actual representation.
Anyway, I wouldn't say those that signed should be "ashamed." I wouldn't have signed it, but sometimes you do what you gotta do. For some OO might be the only game in town. Anyway, so glad that I'm free of that place. My low-ish seniority at my new airline is getting me a way better schedule than my 10+ year seniority was at SkyWest. If I ever do another 4-day trip, it will be too soon.
