Absolutely correct. People made fun of the B scale guys but it worked out for them. Some of the people who bought a right seat job at Gulfstream are also sitting in the left seat of wide-bodies now. There's many ways to run an airline pilot career; some will succeed and some will fail.

Wall Street had unpaid internships for a very long time. Some junior analysts burn out before they get promoted to the big money positions. Being a pilot is hardly the only high paying career with a long path to success and a pool of people competing and screwing each other over to get the brass ring.
