Default How's hiring looking?

Full steam ahead? Getting more difficult to get into SkyWest?

What's the word with people interviewing - CJOs given out like candy or few and far between?

Interviewed last month and was told I was extremely prepared. I did not get the CJO so it feels like few and far between

I interviewed towards the end of June and got a CJO. I didn't sign the contract so I don't expect a classdate anytime soon (if at all).

Were you in the cadet program by any chance. I just had my interviwew today and was told I was extremely prepared, nailed all the technical questions and was asked about preferences, so now I am curious. He DID say he was not the decider, but that a more in-depth review of my application would now take place since I passed the interview.

I was not. I was also told the same thing and everything led me to believe that I got the job, but I guess I didn't score high enough among other applicants

Sorry to hear that. What do you think it could be in your case/profile? What I'd your TT / stats?

1800 TT, 50 ME, ATP CTP and written completed - fully qualify for an unrestricted ATP. The interviewer said I nailed the technical portion and the HR portion was answered without any issue. That's the frustrating part because I don't know if it's me or just whatever criteria they're using at the time. I also have three check ride failures but I don't think that's an issue because they wouldn't have extended an invite to interview if that was a deal breaker.

If you are still instructing, you need to move onto a 135 job and pass training to show the airlines you can be succesful. Apply to Ameriflight, or something similar. Three checkride failures is a big deal, especially if you would be signing the contract and putting yourself on the hook for $80k if you fail out.

I have another part 91 job that isn't instructing but yeah, I know. The issue is that I can't even get an opportunity with any 135 operators so it feels like I'm stuck in mud

Which have you applied to?

And yes the checkride failures weren't a deal breaker ... but that doesnt mean they weren't the reason. Interview 20 people you would take, only have 6 slots, something will be the decider.

There's no way to know and no way to change the past, so the only thing you can do is buff the resume. Do what it takes to get on something bigger.
