Apparently there is a new contract that added language to exempt you from the 80k if you fail or lose your medical. The one I got had no exceptions. I asked a recruiter at FAPA 2 weeks ago and they said a lot of people were questioning the lack of any exceptions so they clarified it.

Cadet and interviewed on the 28th - perfect interview but just received denial today, must be slowing hiring as more and more people with CJOs are starting to bite on that contract. When I chose my interview slot there were a gazillion openings available so it's looking like they are slowing interviews down, and just did mine since I was guaranteed one (cadet). Also could be the massive gap in employment because I was part of the whole Envoy debaccle, but who knows. Now I don't have to worry about the contract though, lol.

Thank you for the kind words, and it's all good - I got the nod from Envoy this March, still in the class pool and waiting for that (was the first of the Envoy "pay for ATP/CTP wave", brutal) and hired off the street so will probably get a nod in Q1 2025, rumor mill is saying it could be earlier with zero negativity in the economy. SkyWest was #1 until that contract rolled out, so I'm not too bummed other than potentially losing out on a class date a couple months earlier. I don't have a specific major I need to go to so the AA flow is nice, along with the QOL, pay, and guaranteed EJet so it outweighs OO for me, although I live west coast so I'm missing out on some good bases but don't care if I have to move.
