Waiting 6 months to reapply if rejected
I applied to Skywest for the FO position and got the rejection just on the application on 1/22/24. I read on this forum that you don't have to wait 6 months if you got a TBNT from the application and not the actual interview - is there any truth to this? I don't mind waiting until 7/22 but it looks like the website is allowing me to reapply. I don't want a TBNT just on a technicality.

I can't tell you if that's because my 6 month cooldown wasn't over or what. Or if it's because i turned down the interview previously.. Good luck

Try other regionals first. Your chance of getting hired as FO with ATP min. & no part 121 time is super slim. I did my interview with them last mo. The interview went extremely well if not perfect (probably missed out on two questions). I was under the impression that it was a solid Yes for the job based on how the interviewer (captain) reacted, although he did mention he was not the one who made the call. I got the rejection email the next day lol. Seems like they have lots of options out there (lots of 121 exp. pilots from the Spirit/ Mesa and other regionals that pulled their CJO from the applicants all competing in the same pool) under the current hiring environment. So, unless you have part 121 or turbine time, it's not gonna make a difference with Skywest at the current time. This is not saying don't apply, you can always try and it doesn't hurt. But, know what to expect.
Tell me if I'm wrong if ANYBODY got hired as an FO with ATP min. & no turbine/ 121 exp. in the recent months (June or July). You might see a different result even back in March or April. I am just so shocked at how things can change so fast in a month or two. Lesson # 1 learned: welcome to the world of aviation.

Just to add to the posts above, I had a friend interview a couple weeks ago. 1,750 hour CFI. No turbine experience. But ultra solid pilot with a fantastic and humble personality. Zero checkride failures, no skeletons in the closet. Interview went very well. Got a TBNT the next morning.
It appears SkyWest is no longer hiring solid people with the mins or a couple hundred hours above the mins.

Can confirm. I interviewed with SkyWest at the end of May and also had a solid interview. I’m ex-military with 975 total time (well above R-ATP mins for military) and 865 multi-engine turbine. I received the TBNT the following week for lack of 90-day recency. The competition is fierce right now.

That said, when I asked my recruiter what the six-month clock was set against, I was told it’s 6 months from the regret letter. So, to be safe, I would wait to submit any re-application until 6 months from the day you were given the TBNT.

In your case get 25 hours in the next few months and keep applying elsewhere, good-luck.
