Our pilot group can’t even take scheduling surveys. How do you expect anyone to care bout something that doesn't even affect the 4300 pilots already here. For every 100 pilots passing on OO because of this. There will be 1000 with there pen ready to sign.. Does it suck, ya. Its just business. Company is protecting its staffing to meet partner obligations.. So take your gamble. Don’t sign. Wait 6-8 maybe more months and end up 1 year behind your career. Maybe it won’t matter. Maybe the bottom drops out of the industry and that 1000 pilots senior to you makes a huge difference. Will find out in 5-10 years…

Spoke to my recruiter today(6/6) (interviewed 5/23, CJO 5/25), recruiter told me that unless you sign the contract they are not placing anyone in class dates at this time only people who have signed. If you sign it then they can place you in a class by the end of the day for july. When I asked how many applicants have been signing she hesitated for a moment then said a handful have signed but as the conversation continued she started to sound like a car salesman "the four people that signed today i already put them in a class date for july, but I don't have a time frame for if you dont sign.
Seems to me like a scare tactic that management is having recruiters use to try and get people to sign.

Well I had my interview two days ago. Nothing came up about the contract, didnt expect it to. I just ignored everything they sent me about it leading up to the interview. We'll see how long the wait for a decision is and if I ever get a class.

What does Republic's union have to say about the contract that blind sided them... oh wait...
Sure, at least there is a union and they sued but it is taking a loooong time for it to work its way thru the courts. Meanwhile, no shortage of FO applicants willing to sign it.

Easy there zero... I do not "GO" here, or is it there? Either way, what is it that you are asking? Or maybe offended about?
My statement was in response to this;
Put two & two together and it means that union or no union, the company is going to attempt to apply any type of contract for new hires that benefits the company.

RUN!
No way I'd even consider this. Obviously, they have a problem with guys jumping ship ASAP to anything slightly better. The way to stop that is to improve the working conditions of the job, not putting shackles on your employees.
1. Obviously, pilots are a surplus at the moment, and SKYW is using the opportunity to lock new employees to SKYW for years.
2. This is essentially pay for training 2024 version
3. 1,600 PIC is ALOT of time, especially if your on reserve.
You get hired, rise through the FO ranks, then make captain, and then start working off your 1600 hours. As a reserve pilot, you'll fly 400-500 hours a year. And what happens when the music stops...and your still an FO? In the dark days of the not too distant past, we had 8 year regional FO's. It could happen.
want regional pilots to stay? Make the QOL and pay on par with the LCC's, but that cost money.

It definitely needs a rewrite for the above “what if’s”. I do get the fact they put a NH through CPT and a type ride while paying them $90.90hr. Thats obviously worth 80k to them. But there needs to be time limit. Max years, time over 1000 FO hrs counts if upgrades stop. Ect.. or a 100% flow to UA/DL ect..
"partners" considering part 135's and other lesser operators are in it.

If you get called by top-tier before the committment is up, just pay the $80k (at current regional scales, you can save up the $80k before you're likely to get called). Especially if you're young.
Trust me, getting to a top-tier employer one year sooner would definitely be worth $80K. If I had the opportunity to buy an extra year of seniority at my current gig right now, I'd write the check in a heartbeat. $80K would be a bargain too, I'd pay that for six months of seniority.
