truth be told what you’re saying is true, and I’m not even being funny or nothing I’ll be cool wit the contract and doing the bid, I’m in no rush to move along elsewhere so fast, yes the money is good at legacies but it’s still decent money at the regional for my liking, wit the situation I’m in I flight instructor part time and work a bs 9-5 that I hate so much I can’t continue to live like this lol I’m shackled now, the shackles of a dream job can’t be bad vs where I’m at now
While right now you might think the money is good at the regionals and you do not need to "move along elsewhere so fast", let me tell you that life at the regionals pales in comparison to life at a major, both in terms of money and QoL. It's not your fault; you don't know what you don't know. The best advice ever given here is "Do Not Sign a Contract" and it's the best advice for good reason.

When does the contract actually start, e.g. when does the 80k begin? Is it after you've accepted the CJO, you now belong to them? Or can you get a CJO but still back out without incurring the 80k, should you get another offer elsewhere?

I was new once too and excited to fly a jet. Others told me my perspective would change after awhile. They were right.

did they make you recite the SkyWest FO creed? SkyWest First Officer's Creed
No one is more professional than I. I am a First Officer - a member of a flight crew whose purpose is to keep my passengers, crew, and airplane safe.
My decisions are the difference between life and death for both my passengers and my company.
I am the master of my emotions. No one controls my mood but me.
I will conduct myself to bring credit to myself, my Company and my profession at all times.
I will not compromise my integrity or safety for any reason.
I am a leader. I am a professional. I am a First Officer.
I think making the class stand up and recite that is stronger than words on any piece of paper 😂😉

Anyways if there's a hell for companies, Skywest definitely deserves to go there.
And the worst part of the contract is, you can't even get an employment attorney to look at it, it's ridiculous.. if anyone found an attorney please shoot me a pm.

Lol I can't tell if this is real or not. I could imagine both.
