**UPDATE**
I signed and was instantly given interview times for the next day, but pushed it back two weeks. Since the contract does not go into effect until after INDOC, it gives me time to keep my options open, and if I do end up going with them, flowing to DL/UA will nullify it. Oh well, at my age, options are limited.

I'm a mid life career changer, just spent the last 18 months at a 91K/135 company. I applied at SkyWest and was given the agreement to sign. The way I read it, if I wash out of training any time after indoc I owe $80K. The contract doesnt really define 'indoc' well - is it completing the ride, LOE, IOE, and being released to the line? Or is it anything after the first week of 'death by powerpoint' HR indoc stuff? It's one hell of a gamble if it kicks in before you are out on the line as an FO...

In the airline world, Indoc generally means the first week of HR admin and FOM/121 stuff.
I would assume Indoc is over when you start learning about a specific airplane (ie systems ground).

not an idiot, but you will kick yourself hard when you see guys who didn't sign moving on after 1-2 years if things stay the same and you are stuck losing seniority at a legacy or national because you shackled yourself to a contract feeder and have to stick with them for years.

truth be told what you’re saying is true, and I’m not even being funny or nothing I’ll be cool wit the contract and doing the bid, I’m in no rush to move along elsewhere so fast, yes the money is good at legacies but it’s still decent money at the regional for my liking, wit the situation I’m in I flight instructor part time and work a bs 9-5 that I hate so much I can’t continue to live like this lol I’m shackled now, the shackles of a dream job can’t be bad vs where I’m at now
