You are more or less correct about that. For reference, it's §121.436. The time doesn't count toward 121 PIC time for the reasons you mentioned. However, you'd think that that 135 turbine PIC would be looked at more favorably than just a CFI.

Their top priority, by a long shot, is how quickly can a new-hire upgrade? So prior 121 (or equiavlent 135/mil) gets the fast track.

A ME turbine pilot should be a better training risk than a CFI, but won't upgrade any sooner.

The business plan.. the ones that don’t go into the deep end of the pool to wait.
So not hiring the best qualified and strongest candidate then, just the ones who agree to the contract?

I recently interviewed and they mentioned that signing the contract wouldn't effect class date placement and that everyone regardless of signing the contract or not, was being placed in the same position in line. He did however highly recomended signing it because so many other people were signing it. Assuming he has his information correct people should not panic, hold steady, and do not sign the contract.

I was given CJO a few days later and I accepted it. I didn't sign the training contract. Was told if I didn't sign it I would be put on a waitlist for a classdate which is fine with me I still need 6 weeks to get my hours.
