Skywest does not have the crews to fly all of its routes. 121 flying obviously requires 1500 hrs for FOs, and captains need to retire at 65. Instead of making Skywest a desirable enough company to attract and retain pilots, we will take the easy way out and fly our routes with retired pilots that FARs wont allow to work anywhere else

So once again, how is this getting around FARs?

Also, judging by this response you seem to not really have a firm grasp of the situation as a whole.

I am pretty sure they’d rather fly a 50 seater with 50 passengers under 121 instead of 30. But they cannot and not for lack of trying.

oh it absolutely is for a lack of trying. They haven't tried once to improve QOL.

About 5 years ago I was told that deuce EAS on average broke even at 16 pax. Everything else was gravy.

50 is bigger than 30 which is bigger than 16

they are in the business of making money. More gravely is better…
