What concerns me more than not having flow, is Skywest actively went out and asked Delta to slow down their hiring of Skywest pilots. I have friends who were offered CJOs at Delta and are waiting months longer than people in their interview group who worked at an ULCC. My friends were told in an email directly from delta, “we are spreading out classes amongst our delta connection carriers to protect their operations, if you have further questions please reach out to your companies management.”
So skywest doesn’t have flow, but is also asking the majors to not hire their pilots? Who would want to work here after hearing that?

Default The problem in regionals today is a queuing..

. Problem, not a lack of scope.

For the system to work, the average CA has to stick around long enough to provide 1000 hours of SIC to someone who will replace him. And when you lose not only CAs with less than 1000TPIC, but FOs approaching upgrade time, the system starts to collapse, which is why DECs are so in demand.

It is not the most valuable but it is an excellent insurance policy to have. Anyone who doesn't want a flow program just has no understanding of it. Anyone who thinks a major will just hire them because they work hard for it can be in for a rude shock, there are plenty still at OO with impeccable records and qualifications that have tried to move on but the phone ain't ringing...don't think you cant be one of them.

Plus getting an interview isn't a guarantee for a job offer at the majors. It turns out Delta thinks some of us are crazy!

Is this for real?

A very bad look if true.

I saw the email as well. Time to start applying to other regionals, ULCC's, and just about any place! Did they think Skywest pilots wouldn't find out? They know we know most of the new hires too right? Good grief...

Don't feel bad, United thinks you're crazy too. (Ask me how I know)

That's really bad news if true, it could worsen the problem and send more off to the ULCC.

My friend was saying that their friend in indoc just filled out a Horizon app. The class already knows Skywest probably isn't what it used to be. I would say get out to people there and stay away for potential new hires. Skywest has done nothing except push more and more pilots out the door with their idiocy. Someone really needs to get fired, or a few people. I have never felt so marginalized by my employer and in a time that we can just walk away is just dumbfound.
