Wow. This is a real kick in the teeth. I wonder how long til the FO pipeline dries up now, can see no reason to come to OO anymore…even for “west coast bases”

Hasn't for a while. It was never "required", you could always pay the pro-rated cost and have the room to yourself.

Other regionals used to provide no accommodation at all, and often no pay for training either. Go back far enough and some of the "top tier" regionals would actually charge you for your training

Don't think we'll be seeing those days again.

Also to add to the info already provided, it is my understanding that when it was two people to a suite, it was a two-bedroom suite so you actually have your own bedroom and simply share the common area/kitchen. I am not sure if there are two bathrooms though.

it was actually a one bedroom and a bed in the living room.

It USUALLY was, but not always. My class got marooned at the Red Lion downtown where it was two to a room without so much as a fridge to share. Good times.
