This is sort of weird advice. But what helped me was watching a few land out at the airport I was based. I mostly flew the 7/9 so I rarely got 200 practice. When I did fly the 200 I basically pancaked it every time to avoid floating. But one day I stood and watched some arrivals and I actually got some insight from it. For me, it helped seeing that in a nose level attitude, the mains hang fairly low relative to the nose gear. As pilots essentially just rounded out at 20 feet, the mains then almost just gently scraped their way onto the runway.

I guess what I’m saying is go watch some real ones land. It will give you insight. It helped me. It seems like rudimentary advice. But it worked.
